Creative educator and self-directed learning advocate.
Hi there! I’m Amy from Brisbane, Australia. I’m a creative educator with a strong passion for helping young people learn in ways that truly suit them. I believe education should be flexible, practical, and empowering — especially for young people who don’t fit neatly into traditional systems.
I hold a Bachelor of Education with a major in English and a minor in Japanese. I also hold a Cert IV in Training & Assessment as well as a TESOL certificate. I have built my career around mentoring, teaching, and designing engaging resources. Over the years, I’ve worked with self-directed learners, homeschoolers, and students with diverse needs, including ADHD, ASD, and anxiety. I enjoy blending creativity and education, whether that’s through designing custom lesson resources, creating interactive learning activities, or guiding young people in discovering their own strengths and interests.
Outside the classroom, I love graphic design and video editing. These creative skills allow me to bring fresh ideas to life, from eye-catching learning materials to engaging online content. You’ll often find me experimenting with new tools, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), to make learning both fun and accessible.
Looking ahead, my dream is to continue growing as an advocate for alternative education — sharing ideas, speaking to communities, and equipping families and educators with practical, creative ways to support young people. I’m also passionate about Japan and building cross-cultural connections, and I find deep purpose in my Christian faith, which shapes how I encourage and support others. By bringing these passions together, I hope to build bridges between people, cultures, and ideas — helping students and families thrive on their own terms.
I’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re interested in learning more about self-directed education or simply curious about what I do, you’re welcome to reach out. My work connects education, culture and faith — so however you found me, I’m glad you’re here. Let's connect!
